Hi there! I’m so happy you’ve come across my new blog page and my very first post.
Let me take a minute to quickly introduce myself. . .
My name’s Kate, I live in Southern California and I’m a 25-year-old wife and first-time mom to a beautiful and sweet (almost ONE year old!) baby boy named Graham. I’ve been blessed enough to be called to be a mother in this lifetime, and I’m looking to share in this beautiful part of life with others around me, both in-person with the friendships I have created with other mothers, and now, virtually; hence why you’re reading this blog!
Where Mothers Gather was an idea I recently happened upon when thinking about other ways to share my thoughts, ideas and stories to connect with moms in a more personal way. I truly love meeting other people and sparking conversations, but at the same time, I tend to lean towards being a more reserved individual, and putting myself out there can sometimes be difficult for me.
However, since having my baby… whew, has he challenged me! He is the most outgoing, sociable little guy I’ve ever met! We meet countless people a day on our weekly grocery store trips just because he loves stopping to smile and say, “Hi!”, to anyone he can. And I LOVE it! It motivates me to get myself out of my little bubble more and meet new people so he can thrive socially in his environment.
I had contemplated the thought of starting a blog before, but never quite knew what my ‘niche’ would be. So, I jumped around with other ideas. Should I create my own mom meet-up/walk community? A mom Facebook page? Making YouTube videos of things I enjoy doing?
Ultimately, I came back to the blog idea. I’m someone who has quite a lot of thoughts to share, I’ve always loved to talk, and I’ve always enjoyed writing about the things I’m passionate about and have a deep interest in. I haven’t done it in a while, but I’m trying to challenge myself more in this chapter of my life. And, what better challenge than starting a blog from the ground up!
To keep it simple, this blog is going to be about a multitude of things. Motherhood, self-discovery and identity, homemaking, home-cooked recipes, faith and foundation, and maybe even the occasional post blabbing on about something random. There are no limits here!
My desire with this blog is to build a tight-knit community to serve as a place for moms to gather virtually to share stories and ideas comfortably, find relatability with one another, giggle over funny things that have happened, and share in solidarity over the sometimes more mundane days.
I hope you can find something of importance through this page, or just have a little fun. Thank you for taking the time to read and joining me in this. I’m excited to share more soon!
